We couldn't be more wrong. Did a quiz every night which was fun..the pool area is great, only went in the pool twice but used the hot tub everyday which was so nice. A large verandah meant we could comfortably sunbathe during the afternoon or have a quiet read of our books. Weather so hot some days I even went in the pool for a swim. We went to Torremolinos on the bus and walked back to Benalmadena marina on Easter Saturday(another lovely hot & sunny day) and all the beach restaurants were full to the brim, lovely to see. Stayed in most Hotels along the promenade since 1976 a lot has changed , first time in the Yaramar , all rooms have sea view , rooms overlooking the sea are at the front, rooms overlooking the swimming pool gets the afternoon & evening sun . Definitely no where near the standard of a 4 star. We only tried it once before switching to fruit juice and seeking out cafe cortados in Spanish run local establishments later. At any bar along the beach you will pay 1 euro 80 cents for a glass of wine, perhaps 2 euros in a restaurant. Lock in the lowest price from these sites. But now, a big surprise,The decline was three euro of beer, and three euro of redwine.Hahaha great fun, which miraculously happy hour.??? The only disappointment in our stay was - as the hotel got busier and all the entertainment was restricted to the patio bar, by Christmas eve there were no seats to be had - too many people and not enough seating !
